May 9, 1993. Pretare di Arquata del Tronto (AP), Italy. A very small village at the foot of Vettore mountain, witnesses an extraordinary event that will mark forever the life of a 23 year old boy.

This case has long been discredited and kept hidden from the world and is still to be explained. The encounter we are about to tell you about made case history in Italian UFO studies, until then only concerned with overseas cases, coming to represent for Italy what Roswell has meant for the United States.

Filiberto Caponi in the spring of '93, near his home encountered and subsequently photographed a mysterious creature several times.

In those days, not far from there, other witnesses reported seeing a very similar creature: perhaps an alien.

The life of the boy suddenly changed. His snapshots, taken with an old instant Polaroid camera depicting an alleged ET, circulated among newspaper editors, UFO researchers and television newsrooms. This had inevitable repercussions on the boy's personal life, affecting his relationships both in public and private, in the workplace and on the streets.

The incident attracts the attention of well-known scientists and ufologists leading up to the appearance of rather intimidating men strictly dressed in black. The boy also receives a visit by an enigmatic religious figure with a rather unique nickname.

The propagation of this extraordinary news causes the intervention by the Law Enforcement and Labour Courts that, for the first time in such cases, intervened promptly in order to avoid undue alarm among the public opinion.

Soon our hero is accused of having created a puppet and photographed it seeking his moment of fame. This is what some newspapers reported, but the assumption didn't hold, easily dispelled by those who know about such underhand dealings.

In spite of every accusation or inference the photos of the strange creature remain: Filiberto Caponi is the only person in the world to have inconfutable evidence, in the form of non-falsifiable proof of the existence of a presumably alien creature, with all the powerful doubts this story breeds in human minds and in the face of the contemptuous scepticism aired by those who own all truths... or so believe...
